Can i use both types of rings with this base?

As a rule I never mix bases and rings.However they both should work. "Try and find Warne rings if you can." Aluminum scope rings are light,that is the only advantage I can think of to use them. The problem with aluminum is it has a low shear strength. What that means is if you drop your rifle on the scope it is more likely to break off than steel rings.
