Chevy Vortec 5700 L31 350 Engine?

ok, there was a 55-94 block made. no 55-86, it was just the heads that changed bolt pattern for the valve covers between 87-94. from what i remember, the vortec 5.7 was just an old 350 with new heads and intake, and a reversed cooling system. from what iv been told, you can put cam, heads, and intake from an 55-94 block, on a 95-2000 block
