My new uncharted 2 froze 2 my character time in story mode?

the only button i could press was start and home button my character was not moving i had to press start and go to first check point and restart it's was when you have to pick some object and put in the Circle why it froze my character i only have the game for 5 day i don't want to return the game there was no scratch on the disc
