An email I received from global. net?

I received an e mail which said web mail alert < office......ff @sbc global.net> email from customer care and asked for user name,password, date of birth,county or territory. Are you affiliated or apart of global? Are you aware of this? is this some sort of scam? Please check into this.If you're apart of this please take care of so i won't lose my account. Respectfully!
